Rosie was hit by a car..she
had a severe head injury,
fractured jaw & was blinded.
After nearly a year with us,
she regained her sight.
Except for her funny grin, she
recovered and was released.
OUR LITTLE FOX ARRIVED FROM A
SCHOOL IN PINELLAS.  HE WAS FOUND IN
A PORTABLE CLASSROOM AND HAD A
STRING TIED AROUND HIS NECK.  SEVERE
INJURIES TO TISSUE AROUND THE NECK
HAVE SINCE HEALED AND THE LITTLE
BABY IS DOING WELL.
THANKS FOR THE SECOND CHANCE!!!
That's her, that little cutie in the center.  Rescued and brought to us by Grady
Peeler.
She appeared one day with a mate and together they lived happily in the pond off
Duck Slough Rd.  Then a terrible tragedy struck, her mate was missing.  She cried
and quacked all night, hoping he would return. The days passed and she became more
& more sad and alone!
The neighborhood people were so sad for her.  Then Grady contacted Sky Harbor
about what to do for her.  If she could be caught,  she was welcome to join our
ducks and be an ambassador duck at Sky Harbor!!!

Three long weeks later, she was safe in a crate, ready to go to her new home.  A
quiet sad little girl appeared at our gate  with Grady.  She was carried to the
back wildlife area.  Soon she spotted the other ducks and a soft "quack, quack"
came from her beak!!!!!  After a few minutes of getting the "pecking order" down,
she settled in and is enjoying life and making new friends.

Thanks Grady and all the wonderful people in the neighborhood who cared about
this beautiful sweet ducks happiness and her future.....we sure love her here!!!!
Vod, our adorable vulture baby is finally all grown up.

Vod came to us as a baby, all orange and fuzzy, but with a
serious dog bite on his little "tushie".
He has healed well, is helping take care of lots of road kill
items and is about ready to be released!

Did you know that vultures growl and can "bark".....both feet
and beak are tearing machines and can inflict severe
injuries and that yucky skin on their heads...well, that is like
that so they don't get dirty feathers as they shove those
heads INSIDE dead things to eat!!!

Harbor care center, for his dog bite!
