SKY HARBOR WILDLIFE REHABILITATION
CENTER
HUDSON, PASCO COUNTY, FLORIDA
That’s her, that little cutie in the center. Rescued and brought to us by Grady
Peeler.
She appeared one day with a mate and together they lived happily in the pond off
Duck Slough Rd. Then a terrible tragedy struck, her mate was missing. She cried
and quacked all night, hoping he would return. The days passed and she became more
& more sad and alone!
The neighborhood people were so sad for her. Then Grady contacted Sky Harbor
about what to do for her. If she could be caught, she was welcome to join our
ducks and be an ambassador duck at Sky Harbor!!!
Three long weeks later, she was safe in a crate, ready to go to her new home. A
quiet sad little girl appeared at our gate with Grady. She was carried to the
back wildlife area. Soon she spotted the other ducks and a soft “quack, quack”
came from her beak!!!!! After a few minutes of getting the “pecking order” down,
she settled in and is enjoying life and making new friends.
Thanks Grady and all the wonderful people in the neighborhood who cared about
this beautiful sweet ducks happiness and her future…..we sure love her here!!!!
